What is Pizzaque?

User Instructions:
Most barbecues vary in their heat output hence cooking times will vary between different models. To operate successfully the Pizzaque oven needs to be placed over the grill plate and have direct contact with the gas heat. Should your grill have stones or a heat diffuser beneath it, move the diffuser to the side or exchange the flat plate for the grill (diffusers can be left in place but they slow the cooking process down).

  1. Place the Pizzaque oven on the grill and light the burners beneath it.
  2. Heat to a temperature of about 400F/200c or when the thermometer is at 12 o'clock.
    Your oven is now ready for use.
  3. Open the Pizzaque door and place the pizza tray inside. Close the door.
  4. After approximately 2 minutes, using food tongs to rotate the pizza tray, turn end to end to ensure even cooking.
  5. Cook for a further 1 - 3 minutes, until base is golden brown.

For commercial frozen pizzas follow instructions on the packet. Turn down the burner to allow for slower cooking.

Pizzaque as a Smoker

  1. Heat oven to 200°F
  2. Place 1-2 handfulls of sawdust (available at fishing tackle shops) over large tray
  3. Cover with cake rack cooler
  4. Place well-seasoned opened whole fish or fillets, skin down on the rack
  5. Place tray in oven for 8-12 minutes

Trouble Shooting:
If the bottom is cooking faster than the top, turn gas elements down.
